Save Our Shrine!

The
Prayer Garden Shrine at
Our Lady of Fatima
|
This beautiful,historic shrine graces the small
garden behind the church building of Our Lady of Fatima Byzantine
Catholic Church in the Richmond district of San Francisco.
Inside the shrine hangs a large, hand-painted icon of Our
Lady of Fatima, its once-colorful tones fading away due to
50 years of exposure to indirect sunlight and weather. The
shrine is dear to all our parishioners and attracts visitors
from all walks of life, who are welcome to enter the little
garden to partake of the heavenly atmosphere.
Sadly, our lovely old shrine is infested with
wood beetles, and if we cannot raise the funds to restore
it, it must be torn down. We are therefore trying to raise
$8,000 to restore both the shrine and the icon. If you are
moved to help, please donate any amount, large or small, in
the form of a check. Please make checks out to Our Lady of
